I bought this as a gift. I really don’t know how well it works yet, I have not been told.

My wife received this item for Christmas. It looks good and appears to have a lot of features. However, when you go to update the map (first time) you will see there is a new one. For whatever reason it tries to install AND keep the old one. Well this is impossible as there is not enough space (no way to add storage). When you go to remove the map installed it will fail on this file cline.dat (0 KB). This now leaves your device in a brick state. You see, if you need to restore to factory settings you have to turn on the device and go to the settings. You cannot get there because you have NO MAP and you cannot continue. Note that the map does not even show installed on the device, but there is no storage space and looking at the device as storage there is quite a bit of map on there. Called customer support, after 52 minutes (timed it) they answer and email me an FAQ on how to uninstall a map and hang up and ask to call back if I encounter a problem, obviously not listening to my ACTUAL problem. So now, I cannot call back as I get a busy signal. I cannot restore the old map, as it says “not activated”. Cannot delete anything to get space to install a map just to reset the device. So long story short the ONLY option is to return it.
I own a Garmin besides this one that works like a champ, never had a problem.

The TomTom XL 330S is easy to use but leaves a lot to be desired when planning routes. The first few “quickest” routes that I tried were 100s of miles out of the way and 2-3 hours longer than necessary. I’ve never had anything like that happen with a Garmin. This item is being returned…I’ll stick with Garmin from now on.

This unit was not the 330S it is a plain 330. Can not get ahold of anyone to return. Don’t buy electronics here.

They had a few on amazon that was suppose to be new and refurbished I clicked on NEW and it was not new it was refurbished so I sent it back for a refund. I don’t appreciate wasting my time and money on something like this.
